Plush yarn can obscure individual stitches more than a smooth cotton yarn. A small test round can help you decide whether your hook and tension produce a fabric that holds the stuffing without feeling too stiff. Use the designer’s instructions for the actual construction and measurements rather than estimating them from the photos.
Think about the recipient
The pictured bears have mounted eyes and a nose. If you are making a toy for a young child, do not assume the photographed version is age-appropriate.
